The Dayton Airshow, Dayton OH
The Dayton Airshow is one of the country's most notable airshows and 2024 is a very special year for the Dayton Air Show as they celebrate 50 years of air shows in the birthplace of aviation – Dayton, Ohio! This years headliner act will be the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and they will be supported by a number of other performers including pilots and planes from the T-34 Association.
All T-34 members are welcome. The plan is to have both a static display and an aerial demonstration. Ideally we would like to get a minimum of 16 T-34's (8 static / 8 aerial) to attend the event but 17 to 42 airplanes would be even better. The static display aircraft will need to be in place by 9am on Saturday morning and you can depart after 4pm each day OR leave your aircraft in a the secure static display area through Sunday at 4pm.
The aerial team will be staged in a sterile area on the airport. We will have one flyover on Saturday and one on Sunday. You can air depart after the flight or after 4pm each day. This is wavier-ed air-space and in order to fly in the show you will have to be FAST qualified, FAST current and have recent demonstrated proficiency. We are looking for 8 aircraft each day and we can rotate from the static pool one day to aerial team the next day.
Schedule:
Friday June 21: If you are coming in on Friday you can fly directly into KDAY or you can meet us at I68 (Warren County Airport) Muster Point at 1400hrs. Butler County KHAO is closed until mid July.
1400hrs - Arrive KDAY or I68
1400 - 1800hrs - Flight Briefing and flight into KDAY
Saturday June 22: Airshow Day 1. (0700hrs - 1600hrs) As mentioned above you will have the opportunity to participate as a static display near show center or as an aerial pilot. Staging for ground / static display starts at 9am. If you arrived on Friday and left your plane overnight it should be in position already. For those of you arriving on Saturday morning there will be ground crews to marshal you into your static spot. Keep a good 360 view going at all times, it will likely be a busy ramp. For the aerial pilots the planes will be parked in a sterile area in preparation for the days flyover. You can fly directly into KDAY. If you arrive late on Saturday we will still be able to park you on the airport property but you may not be able to join the static or aerial line, so please try to get on the ground no later then 8:30am.
