Mentors in the Media

  • "Magnificent Mentor" -- By Lou Drendel (Member #95) published in the Fall 1981 issue of Air Progress Aviation Review. Found in the Terry Brennan (member) archives while looking for back issues of the Mentor Monitor to scan and upload to the website.

  • "Save the Mentor!" -- "T-34 owners are the latest to prove the value of good old-fashioned American ingenuity." By Peter Garrison. Originally published in Air & Space/Smithsonian, Dec 2004/Jan2005. The original article is no longer available on Air & Space's website -- at least I couldn't find it. I copied the article to a file just in case this ever happened. I didn't, however, copy the pictures from the article.

  • Sport Pilot TV at Menominee 2006 -- Click on link to the left to view a video featuring the T-34s at Menominee in 2006. Sport Pilot TV, an independent production company spent several days with the T-34 Association members at Menominee interviewing several of them and going along for rides.

Parts

  • New shimmy damper for Beech owners. Lord Corporation has announced a new nose-gear shimmy damper (this page only refers to Cessna applications) for Beech aircraft. The patented technology provides a consistent damping without maintenance. Instead of using fluids to resist motion, the shimmy damper features a unique rubber formulation with a high-tech lubricant to absorb nose-wheel vibration. Herber Aircraft, a distributor for Lord products, announced the Beech damper for specific Beech models at AirVenture 2007. We are checking to see if T-34s are also supported. (7/27/06)

  • McFarlane Aviation Products -- (800)544-8594, sales@mcfarlaneaviation.com, FAA-PMA approved flight control cables. In-stock and ready to ship.
