I've owned the aircraft since December
7, 2004. Prior to that it was owned by Paul W. Bennett, a retired
Delta Airlines 747 Captain. He owned it for 24 years and flew it
about 300 hours during that period. He assured me that no aerobatics
had been done with it during his ownership. And I resisted all
temptation due to the AD restrictions.
As for the wing spar carry-through ( AD
04-25-51}, the FAA's 3800 hour total TIS temporarily delayed that
problem for me. Of course that is only if all other ADs are in
compliance. The stabilizer spar eddy current inspection requirement,
AD 2007-06-01, was accomplished on October 3, 2007. Results: "No
discontinuities noted". The annual inspection due on November 8,
2007 will be accomplished on time. As you know AD
2001-13-18R1 requires compliance within one year....or 80 hours TIS
whichever comes later. N8056E reaches that TIS at 2885.4 which is
32.5 hours away. In other words it has been flown only 47.5 hours
since the effective date of the AD.
