Flickr is owned by Yahoo. If you
have a Yahoo account you can create a Flickr account under your
Yahoo account. Or, if you want to keep your Flickr account
separate for your existing Yahoo account, you can create a new
Yahoo account and Flickr account under that.
Go to this page http://www.flickr.com/
(it will open in a separate window).
Click on “Create Your Account”
button in upper right.

That takes you to “Sign in to
Yahoo!”
Click on “Sign Up” under “Don’t have
a Yahoo! ID”?

Fill in the Yahoo! ID form.
Now you can create a Flickr account.
It can be different from your Yahoo! ID but less complicated if
you make it the same.
After you have created your account
step #1 according to Flickr is to personalize your profile. The
one thing under this that I like is the ability to "personalize
your URL". So instead of a long string of numbers in the link to
your Flickr photos, you can put something such as your Flickr
account name. So personalize if you wish or get right to
uploading photos.
To upload you can click on the link
next to “2” under “Here’s how to get started” or you can click
on “Upload Photos & Video” at any time.

This takes you to the "Upload to
Flickr" page. Note that with a free account you have a 100MB of
photos and 2 videos limit per month. (With a “pro account” at
$25/year you have unlimited upload capability and some other
goodies.)
Click on “Choose photos and videos”
A “Select files to upload” window
appears.

Navigate to the folder on your
computer where your pictures are located.
Select all of the photos you want to
upload.
Windows tricks:
Hold control key and click on
individual pictures you want to upload, or
Click on first photo to upload, hold
shift key, and click on last photo to upload and all photos in
between are selected, or
Use mouse to draw a “rubber band
box” around the photos you want to select, or
Press Control key and the letter “a”
to select all pictures
Click on “Open” button in lower left
corner of the “Select files to upload” window.

Click on the “Upload Photos and
Videos” button. "Public" or "Private"? Best to leave them
"Public" so everyone from the T-34 community can see your
pictures.

Wait for all photos to upload.
When files are all uploaded, the
appears. The "Finished!" refers to file uploading being
finished. Do click on “add a description” so you can rename
pictures and write a note (if appropriate) for each picture.

On the "Describe this upload" page,
there are lots of things for you to do. The #1 thing we want you
to do is give an appropriate "Title" to each picture. "IMG_987"
isn't nearly as informative as a description of what is going on
in the picture.
There is probably a limit to the
length of the "Title" but I didn't reach it. You can put spaces
in the "Title".
You can also add a description where
you can put lots of details about the picture.
There is also a field to put “tags”
which Flickr defines as “keywords or labels that you add to a
photo to make it easier to find later”.
Click on “Save” at bottom of that
page.

Right now all of your pictures are
in one big lump. If you upload any more they will get mixed in
with these photos. You probably will want to rearrange the order
of the photos as well. Time to get organized with what Flickr
calls "Sets".
Click on “Organize” at the top of
the page.

Next click on the "Sets" tab at the
top of the page.

Click on “Create your first set”
button in middle of window.
Name this “set”. Give it a name that
has something to do with the event or the subject of the
pictures.
Drag pictures from bottom to this
set in the order
you want them to appear in the set.
Click on “Save” button in bottom
left corner..
Almost done. You need to find the
“URL” (the unique address on the Internet) that will lead to
this set. I need that to put on the T-34 Association’s website
to lead others to your photos.
Go back to your “photostream”. Click
on “Your photostream” in upper right corner.
Open the set you just created.
You can either cut and paste
whatever is in the “Address” field at the top of your web
browser or take advantage of the “Send to a friend” link that is
in the bottom right corner on the page. Address the email to
webmaster@t-34.com.

Be sure to tell us something about
the event in your email so I can put a link to it on the
appropriate place(s) on the T-34 Association’s website.
That’s it.
